Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Amman, Jordan

 Vardot’s Quality Assurance team works as a cross-functional team to ensure successful, high-quality releases. We need smart, artistic, solution-oriented, focused, and determined individuals who have a proven ability to listen, read between the lines, be detail-oriented, diagnose and solve problems efficiently to collaborate with our development teams.  

Responsibilities:

  • Review and critique software specifications

  • Design and execute test cases using functional requirements

  • Design automation scripts to validate the functionality

  • Find and file defects; verify fixed deficiencies

  • Debug software/server issues

  • Work with developers to ensure a successful, high-quality release

  • Responsible for the content structure of various client websites

  • Understand website structure, information architecture, and content approach

  • Maintain data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures

  • Manage the data and organization of content using Drupal CMS

  • Develop focused test plans

  • Perform complex test cases and maintain associated test records

  • Participates in agile estimation taking into consideration product and process requirements during the development lifecycle

  • Assists in the process of development in order to provide timely and accurate resolution to critical customer issues

  • Engineering expert that can reverse engineer the most difficult defects, UX issues, source of dirty data, and configuration errors. Ability to reconstruct these complex issues into clear proof for development to fix.

  • Understands the quality portion of building, packaging, and deploying code. Identify patterns that need to be addressed from a quality perspective prior to hitting QA environments.

  • Proactively works with other team members as needed to resolve issues and meet project goals

  • Able to design a test plan for future requirements

  • Set up and maintain testing environments

  • Utilize automated test scripts to perform duties

  • Follows defined engineering process during the development lifecycle

  • Performs peer test reviews to identify improvements to test plans

  • Recognized as an expert in one or more areas of product functionality

  • Provides technical leadership and influence to other team members

  • Coordinates his/her own work as well as the work required from others

  • Fosters teamwork within the group, proactively mentors, develops team members

  • Demonstrates mastery of problem-solving skills-test plans seldom require re-work

  • Uses customer understanding and knowledge of the relevant technologies to measure the quality of a better product/service

  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with ad-hoc objectives. 

Technical Skills:

  • Firm grasp of back-end QA methodologies and testing processes.  

  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, Javascript, and PHP.

  • Knowledge and experience in automated testing.

  • Experience in developing test documentation: test cases, test reports, test plans, etc.

  • Firm grasp of user experience and usability.

  • Strong in research and in using the internet as a good resource of information.

  • Computer literacy in multiple applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, etc. 6.0 NICE TO HAVE   

 

A plus: 

  • Experience with Drupal specifically.

  • Experience working with Selenium.
