DevOps Engineer

Amman, Jordan

   The Primary responsibility of the DevOps engineer is the maintenance of a large number of Drupal web applications running on Linux on multiple hosting environments, along with the internal SDLC and CI/CD pipeline. This role will be part of the Engineering department and handle internal and external technology infrastructure to support Vardot's SLAs and provide a smooth and automated development/deployment lifecycle.


Internal Infrastructure: 

  • Support, monitor, and manage internal IT infrastructure networks and servers.

  • Be able to actively improve our operational environments, such as tools, processes, and automation.

Client's Infrastructure:

  • Support, monitor, and manage an always-available cloud-based SaaS platform for our Clients.

  • Setup, monitor, and build monitoring tools to find problems, resolve and/or escalate to development and ensure that we exceed our SLAs.

  • Be able to solve the majority of the routine issues/problems and able to troubleshoot issues/problems along and escalate to corresponding teams.

  • Build and manage a schedule for Drupal updates regularly as it pertains to our SLAs.

Continuous Integration Cycle and DevOps:

  • Support and maintain the Continuous Integration cycle for all internal and client projects.

  • Support application deployments, build new systems, and upgrade and patch existing ones.

  • Build and manage development and testing environments, assisting developers in debugging application issues using tools.

  • Build and maintain main DevOps tools, such as - but not limited to - Containers and Orchestration.


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, CIS, MIS, or related majors.

  • Strong experience with Linux or UNIX in a software development environment.

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for web-based applications running on the LAMP/LNMP technology stack.

  • Experience with a language (probably scripting) for tool building. bash scripting/PHP is preferred but not required.

  • Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL)

  • Experience in writing technical instructions in the use of tools and/or program modifications.

  • Expertise with software-automation production systems and CI/CD tools.

  • Familiarity with Git

  • Experience with virtualization software (VMware)

  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems: Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

  • Strong command of Arabic and English languages in both speaking and writing.
