Team Lead/Senior - Technical Customer Support Engineer

Vardot’s web solutions empower international organizations and enterprises such as Al Jazeera, United Nations, UNRWA, The Ministry of Information & Communication Technology in Qatar, and Georgetown University to amplify their digital presence utilizing the open source content management system – Drupal, that unifies content, community, and commerce.

                Responsibilities:

                1. Participate in developing new features or work packages on the websites under our support.

                2. Manage sites stability, which includes new releases, Drupal and security updates.

                3.Manage customer escalations and coordinate resolution efforts with key stakeholders by working cross-functionally

                4.Track Customers escalations (within required timelines)

                5. Work with a broad customer base consisting of non-profits, educational institutions, governmental bodies, and the private sector.

                6. Use advanced problem-solving to resolve complex challenges in real time across a number of technical domains.

                7. Collaborate across the Support team and other internal teams to provide the best possible outcomes to meet client need.

                8. Supervise Support Engineers tasks and performance.

                9. Use advanced problem-solving to trace, debug and resolve complex challenges in real time across a number of technical domains.

                Must have: 

                1. Experience in web development and/or PHP development and demonstrable Drupal 7/8 skills a plus.

                2. 4 - 8 years of relevant experience.

                3. Understand how to establish correct and realistic expectations for both Customers and Vardot's success.

                4. An understanding of the LAMP stack and comfort using the command line/bash.

                5. Strong written and verbal communications skills.

                6. Customer engagement experience.

                7. Thorough knowledge of Object Oriented Design and Design Patterns.

                8. Solid understanding of web related technologies such as HTTP/S, REST, JSON, FTP, SSH and SMTP.

                9. Comfortable debugging client-side issues with firebug, web developer and similar tools.

                10. Expertise in using version control systems, preferably GIT.

                11. Bachelor's degree in CS or related field is preferred.
